Expecting Febuary Kids!!
We are now in the home stretch for Old Rock Ranch Venus! Venus is bred to George and is due Feb 19! Down to less than 3 weeks! Whoo! We're going to make it guys! I promise! I am so eager for her to kid! She was 2008 Junior Champion Doe at Lorain County Fair, from before we got her.
I'm hoping for 2 does and 1 buck, but will be happy with one of each. But the most important thing is that everything goes OK.
Fingers crossed for an easy kidding!!!
---
Also, Tisie of KK Snowd'n picked up our Desert Farm girls today! Look for new pictures of American Style by tommorrow of her! :D
---
Rori is growing BIG and strong! She got disbudded today! I put her back with Ava afterwards and when I went to feed Ava, I couldn't find Rori. I looked and she was sound asleep in the hay feeder! She looked so gosh darn cute!!!!
---
Isabella and Josie are also looking quite big! And they both have the start of an udder. So I am thinking Josie's due in April and Isabella in March (?). Or maybe it is wishful thinking??? Who knows! I guess we'll have to wait and see...
---
Well, that may very well be it for my update. Unless you'd like to hear about my escapees. Yeah, I had a frustrating day! Will give ya the back story on that tomorrow...It's quite comical, but of course it wasn't at the time. ;)
Have a good night everyone! I am off to check goatfarmcentral.com for updates on my new girl! Plus I am exhausted! LOONG day!
Later bloggers! Tara

New Doe Coming!!
I will be welcoming a brand new doe all the way from OR state come March! I am VERY excited about bringing this doe into my herd.
Desert Suns American Style!
Thank you Linda Colville for selling me this magnificent doe. This girl has a dynamic pedigree and her dam has produced 17 kids (earning her +!) and just got her first NPGA ribbon (Res. Senior Champion) at age 7 and 1/2! And her sire is a GORGEOUS, and I mean GORGEOUS, dark caramel buck!!! And a BIG thanks to Tisie of KK Snowd'n Acres (Nigerian Dairy Goat farmer) since she will be picking her up for me! And to Amanda of Quaking Canopy for transporting her ALL the way across the Country! I can't thank you enough!
A good friend of mine is also getting 2 Desert Suns does. One being Desert Suns Bo'Derrick (Dark Caramel!!!), whom will be bred to one of my bucks for a kid back trade, and Desert Suns Laci Illusions! Congrats Chrissy! You better bet I want a doe from Ricki!
My dream of owning a Desert Farms doe is FINALLY coming true! I can't wait to get America into the show ring here. Can you say PGCH???? I sure can! :D

My "Surprise"!
I honestly didn't think Ava would do as I said. I was saying all week she'd kid on Friday...And what does she do?? Prove me right!
Anyway so I walk in to check Ava and Venus and what do I see? A little white blob! I ran out and hollered at my parents to come.
So I go back in there, she had JUST had the kid before we got there. And it mostly dried off and was JUST starting to pass the placenta. Perfect! Completely un-assisted! :)
So I go over and whipe the kid off a bit more, still a little wet. And I lift the tail to check and it's a...
GIRL!!! My doe streak is continuing!
So...without further ado the first 2010 kid here...Tara's Rowdy Kids Crystal's Aurora! Little Miss Rori is SPOILED rotten! I kept going out to hold her today! I am deeply in LOVE!

Ava's on Day 145!
Ava hit Day 145 today! I don't *think* she will kid soon however. She has a tiny udder and doesn't look too big...So I think a single. Which is fine by me! :)
I'll keep y'all updated!

Snow goats! :)
We've got some snow! Hoping for a delay tomorrow so I don't have to take that algebra exam (EW, I know!)
The goats are all doing well! They don't know what exactly to think of this white stuff! LOL! You should've seen my spring kids. They were "BAAAAAAH"ing at the top of their lungs as if saying "Mom, what the heck is this yucky stuff on the ground! It's cold and wet and EWWWW!!!" Anyone who has goats KNOW how much they hate, hate, hate to get their feet wet! Haha!
Here's what Meg thought about it...:
It was quite comical. She was NOT happy with me at all! :) But pretty soon they got over it:
And Ava and Herbie are due to have their babies in: 5 days! I am so excited! First kids of 2010! Hoping, so badly, for a doe kid(s) since Herbie will be moving onto his new home later this month! Because if I do get one (hopefully a caramel one!!!) it will be retained! :D
Then Venus and George due in Febuary...And that will be all until April (or possibly May).
So check back...I'll check on Ava tomorrow and give y'all a quick update!
Have a great Wednesday!
