Slight Update on American Style

Well, seems like this year has flown by! Minus one thing, Desert Suns American Style, who was originally to arrive March 21. After our transporter backed out, Chrissy and I scrambled to find a way here to Ohio for our three precious does.

Which we succeeded in doing...We were supposed to have the does in PA by May 7th at the latest...Now it has been said that the girls won't even have been picked up by the transporter until after that. They are running behind so I don't even know when they will even be picked up. :(

Just a bit of an update...I am disappointed, but I'm glad that all three of our doe's will get here safely. Eventually.

Kidding Season!

Our kidding season has had it's up and downs so far, but we were lucky enough to have 4 live kids. :) All caramel! 1 light, 1 medium, 1 dark red, and 1 dark brown! All BEAUTIFUL doelings!

Tara's Rowdy Kids Herbrand Tool and Scar-Bar-O Ranch Ava produced a single light caramel doeling on 1/15 ~ Tara's Rowdy Kids Aurora.

Bari Patch George and Old Rock Ranch Venus produced triplets (2 bucks and 1 doe) but due to kidding complications on 2/25 - we were lucky to save the dark red caramel doeling ~ Tara's Rowdy Kids Georgie's Peach.

Bari Patch George and Tara's Rowdy Kids Sparklin' Jewel produced one brown caramel doeling and one dark caramel doeling unassisted on 3/30 ~ Tara's Rowdy Kids Sweet Divinity and Tara's Rowdy Kids Sparklin' Jewel.

Jachin Valley Mordecai and Lil's Little Kids Josie produced 2 dead babies on 4/3. These babies were very huge and I am shocked by the fact that she didn't have to have a c-section and had them on her own. I had fed her NO grain throughout pregnancy so obviously it was something with bloodlines. Josie's dam has never had a problem, nor has any does bred to her full brother (whom is a herdsire for Lucky U Farm, he's sired a total of 6 kids so far, including singles). I am just very VERY thankful that Josie made it through such a tramatic delivery. I will probably try to breed her one more time later on this year or maybe even next year. She is very special to me and I couldn't stand to loose her.

Have a few more does to finish up the year! K & J Pygmies Isabella is due anytime now to Jachin Valley Mordecai (which worries me greatly). After that we will have a break until June 10th when Kookie is due.

Hope all is well with everyone else and so far, a pretty decent year a few losses, but they were uncontrollable unfortunately. Even knowing that never makes the losses any easier, though. It's always sad to loose a life.
Fingers crossed that the season improves!

Sales List!

Attention!

We currectly have a dark caramel doeling available, Tara's Rowdy Kids Sparklin' Topaz. She is sired by one of the nicest bucks in our herd, brown caramel, Bari Patch George (out of Bari Patch Bunches of Honey and by PJ's Kids Buffalo) and out of (our very own first born doeling here! Medium caramel) Tara's Rowdy Kids Sparklin' Jewel ( out of Fellowship Farms Crystal and by Hass' Happy Herd Hidden Henry). She is a sweet, friendly little girl; she even has goat jewelry (aka wattles)! Should be a nice doe for 4-H and FFA. Her mom was a very easy first time kidder, had them all on her own! In fact, I didn't even notice her and her sister hiding behind her at first! I have two 1/2 sisters, 1 full sister, 1 cousin, and her mom; so I feel that I have enough of relatives to her. Not to mention, I am tight on space and need to sell some. Asking $350, $325 to a 4-H home.

Also expecting kids in April, June, and August. Our waitlist is a bit lengthy, but waiters don't always come through.
